Samsung’s upcoming Hybrid HDD R55 Laptop features an 80GB Hybrid HDD (5400rpm) with a 256Mb OneNAND Flash drive, according to the press release the little Flash add-on improves the hard drive’s data reading with 26%, the data writing with 71%, the power consumption with 32% less and extends the drive’s length of life with 10%.

Other specs are Intel Core 2 Duo CPU (1.83GHz), 15.4" WXGA LCD, nVidia GeForce 7400, Super Multi DL Optical Drive and Windows Vista Premium. The price is estimated to $1923.
