Beautiful Audi A5 ad by The Mill

Monday, May 28th, 2007

Audi A5 Advertisement

I just stumbled across this new ad for Audi A5 called “Rhythm of Lines”, created by London-based The Mill. It’s quite refreshing to see a car commercial that doesn’t include the otherwise mandatory shots of cars going up/down steep mountain roads or swoosh by on the edge of a dam in desaturated colors.

HiPe in-car PC runs Windows Vista

Tuesday, April 24th, 2007
Drive-N Car PC

HiPe PC just announced their new Driv-N in-dash PCs. While some similar devices lack the binary horsepowers to do anything more than plain movie watching and music listening the Driv-N is fast enough to run Windows Vista Home Premium (if that bold move resulted in the machine feeling slow again is yet to be seen).

Anyway, depending on the model you get a touchscreen display ranging from 6.5" to 15" in size, speech recognition software (which apparently doesn’t need the tedious voice training), Bluetooth connectivity, GPS, rear-view camera support, optional Wi-Fi transmitter, voice feedback, XM-radio and much more.

If you want one you’ll have to give up between $799 to $1,589 depending on the power you want packed into the box.

Kensington iPod Car Mount

Friday, March 30th, 2007

Kensington’s Car Mount for iPod® and MP3 Players is a rather simple device designed to help you attach your MP3-player of choice to your car’s windshield. The arms on the side are adjustable to fit a variety of players (including all iPod models from Nano to Video) and the suction cup is over-sized to make sure the mount stays put when you go off-road.

Top 10 Hottest Hybrids for 2007

Lexus LS 600h L

Thinking about doing your eventual grandchildren a favor and let your next car be a hybrid? ForbesAuto has a neat list over which of ‘em they think are the hottest ones of 2007.

The Lexus pictured above is the 2008 LS 600h L, featuring the world’s first full-hybrid V8 (a 5.0-liter engine mated to two electric motors delivering 430 HP to all four wheels), and no - it’s not the #1 on their list.

Maserati covered in shattered glass

Tuesday, March 20th, 2007

Okay, if YOU had a Maserati Quattroporte, wouldn’t you super-glue 1,763 lbs (that’s about 800 Kg) of shattered glass on it just to make sure the neighborhood kids keep their sticky fingers off it? Yeah, of course you would.

Normally doing something like this would count as severe car abuse in my eyes, but since this is a piece of art by the Italian artist Luca Pancrazzi I guess it’s just a.. well, statement? Pedestrians, beware?
