Pill shaped USB Drive

Let’s all thank whatever you’ve chosen to believe in for the USB ports and all the weird products they inspire companies to create each day. This is the Pill Shape 4GB USB 2.0 Flash Drive and well… The name says it all, doesn’t it? Just make sure you keep it out of reach from children and junkies.

Guy playing 2 mins of Super Mario Bros with eyes closed

Thursday, May 3rd, 2007

The guy in the video above plays the first two minutes of Super Mario Bros with his eyes closed and his back turned. If this isn’t proof of humankind truly being a divine species I don’t know what is (OK, if he’d played the most annoying Super Mario mod ever he’d get a few extra points).

So what do you think, are we dealing with plain old-fashioned cheating here (mirror on the NES controller?) or is he just gifted with a pretty useless superpower?

Hong Kong-smartphone with 7.1 surround sound?

Wednesday, May 2nd, 2007

The device pictured above is a (supposedly) new smartphone from Hong Kong featuring a 3.5" QVGA display, transparent protective lid, bluetooth stereo, 2 megapixel camera and - here’s the weird part - integrated 7.1 surround sound.

“Why on earth would anyone want 7.1 surround sound if all the speakers sit right next to each other, wouldn’t it just sound like one big mono speaker?” I hear you ask. Well.. Uhm.. I really don’t know. If you see Hong Kong businessmen pressing their cellphones to their foreheads in desperate attempts to separate the channels this might just be the reason.

The Bullshit Button

Bullshit Button

The Bullshit Button is nothing short of a portable bullshit announcer driven by two AAA-batteries. Just push the button and it’ll shout stuff in the lines of:

- (Beep) “That was bullshit”
- (Siren) “Bullshit detected, take precautions”
- “Bullshit level defcon 5″
- “Oh come on now, that ain’t even bullshit, that’s horseshit”
- “Warning, warning, bullshit alert”

…While your own mouth stays comfortably closed. The scenarios where a devious device like this could be handy are just too many to number here.

Weird Transformers Headphones

Takara Tomy Transformers Headphones

There’s plain ugly headphones and ugly headphones still worth the price due to the awesome audio quality they offer. Somehow I doubt that Takara Tomy’s Transformers Music Label Frenzy & Rumble Headphones fit in the second category.

Anyway, these will be available in Japan from April 19th and if you want to walk the streets looking like someone shoved a Decepticon robot in your ear it’ll cost you about USD$33 (3,950 Yen).

USB-hub featuring self-destruct button

Thursday, April 26th, 2007
Self-Destruct Button USB-Hub

Okay, I know that this USB-powered self-destruct button has been around for a while, but I’m not sure that the previous version functioned as a four-port USB-hub as well… Anyway, this device won’t do much more than scream “Kill! Kill! Kill!” whenever you flip the lid and hit the red button, but who knows - if you’re lucky you’ll be able to scare your boss from giving you too much to do if you keep it clearly visible on your desk.

Most annoying Super Mario mod ever

Sunday, April 15th, 2007

The video above shows some poor guy trying to play what must be the most sado-masochistic, cruel and frustrating Super Mario mod ever. The video is a bit long, but give it a minute or two and he actually gets somewhere - when he finally reaches the pipe and heads down to collect the hard-earned coins just cracked me up.

MyPetFat helps you lose weight, eww..

Sunday, April 15th, 2007
MyPetFat

If the sight of the anatomically correct body fat replica above grosses you out then it does exactly what its inventors intended. The company behind MyPetFat thinks that if you carry a chunk of it with you at all times it will function as a constant reminder of what happens if you eat that extra cookie on the coffee break (and you’ll be known among your colleagues as the one carrying human body fat in a jar, that’ll probably end all invites to after-work beers). They’re available in different sizes (from 1oz to 5lbs) and costs from $14.95 to $149.95.

If you’re thinking about buying 5 lbs of fake fat for $149.95 I’d seriously ask you to consider spending the money on a pair of comfortable walking shoes instead. Really.

Big Ben Blue: 3 feet long LED clock

Thursday, April 12th, 2007
Big Ben Blue LED Clock

The Big Ben Blue LED Clock is pretty much nothing more than a really simple digital clock except it’s.. well, super-sized to say the least. This indiscreet timepiece is over three feet long and powered by energy efficient LEDs.
