I’m not a big fan of headsets, but the Nokia J Bluetooth Headset sure looks good. Besides the shiny, curved, stainless steel housing it sports a clip to carry it in (yeah, wearing a headset all the time just to look like you’re expecting important calls isn’t impressing anyone) which automatically turns the headset on/off when used to preserve battery time. Also, you get DSP noise reduction, automatic echo cancellation (AEC), automatic volume control that adjusts to your surroundings and two sets of small, medium and large earpieces. As for the battery you get up to 3 months of standby time and 5 hours of talk time.

The Nokia J is compatible with any phone supporting Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR, Headset Profile 1.1 and Handsfree Profile (HFP) 1.5.

Amazon sure made a buzz today when they launched the new line of Kindles. The more basic ones (with really impressive price tags) are All-new Kindle (price-dropped to $79), the Kindle Touch ($99, wi-fi + 6" e-ink display), Kindle Touch 3G ($149, 3G + Wi-fi + 6" e-ink display) but the one everybody’s talking about now is the Kindle Fire ($199).

The Kindle Fire sports a dual-core processor, a 7" color touchscreen protected with Gorilla glass (chemically strengthened to be 30 times harder than plastic) with a rubberized backside as well as free storage in the Amazon Cloud and a new web browser (Amazon Silk) which utilizes the cloud to speed up the browsing experience. According to Gizmodo the performance is amazing as well. Although it hasn’t right now, it’ll have a native e-mail client soon, as well as the ability to read Office documents.

There’s no shortage of content for it either, there’s 100,000 movies and TV shows available from Amazon Instant Video, 1,000,000 Kindle books and over 17,000,000 songs at Amazon MP3. Add compatibility with Android apps and games and you’re set (yup, you’ll get your Angry Birds).

So, this serious iPad competitor is yours for a mere $199 and will start shipping November 15th. I bet someone’s uneasy over in Cupertino all of a sudden.

Here’s Fossil Meta Watches, two Bluetooth-equipped timepieces available with both analog and digital faces. The analog one sports two 16×80 white OLED displays while the digital one has a 96×96 reflective display. The thing about these is that Fossil offers an SDK/API to allow programmers to change and customize the functionality and send data to them wirelessly. Might not be something for casual Joe but it’s a nice effort nevertheless.

Other features include accelerometer, 3ATM water resistance, ambient light sensor, rechargeable batteries and stainless steel cases with leather straps.

Logitech just launched the 7.5mm thin Wireless Solar Keyboard K750. Now, this particular solar driven keyboard is able to power itself by using any light, including that from lamps. So as long as you don’t hack away in constant darkness all the time you’ll be free of battery hassles forever. Also, it’s completely PVC-free to be as eco-friendly as possible.

The keyboard comes with a solar power app which features a lux meter to help you get the necessary light and keep track of the battery levels. The keyboard will stay charged for at least three months in total darkness as well.

The K750 will be available for purchase in January 2011 and the suggested price is €79.99.

Asus has just launched a new 2.4 GHz wireless laser mouse dubbed WX-DL (after one of its designers, David Lewis). Besides the unusual, round shape of the aluminum casing it sports a touch sensitive top area allowing you to use mouse gestures (like Apple’s Magic Mouse), scroll in four directions as well as use it as a simple multimedia remote control.

This is AlessiTab, a new tablet from Italian Alessi sporting a 10.1" HD touchscreen and running Android 2.1 with graphics by Italian designer Stefano Giovannoni. This device aims at becoming a natural helper in the Italian kitchen, and I sure wouldn’t mind having one in mine.

Apple announced the 27-inch LED cinema display over a month ago, but now it’s finally available in Apple Store. Besides the good looks you get a widescreen display with 2560×1440 native resolution, 178° viewing angle, three USB ports, built-in 2.1 speaker system (49 watts), iSight webcam with microphone and LED backlight with 1000:1 contrast ratio.

Logitech has launched K800, a slim, wireless keyboard with illuminated keys. The laser-etched keys are lit up using ambient light sensors to adjust the brightness depending on how dark the room is and built-in motion sensors make sure the backlighting turns off if you’re not using the keyboard – it’s wireless so you might want to save battery juice. If you’re not happy with the automatic detection you can adjust the brightness manually as well.

According to Logitech the K800 offers up to 10 days of battery life (depending on use, of course) and you recharge it with a micro-USB cable. The price is estimated to $99.00 and it’ll be available later this month.

If you’re – for some reason – tired of USB flash drives to weak to handle a serious beating you should check out LaCie XtremKey, a premium flash memory secured inside 2mm metal pipe casing tolerating 5 meter drops and temperatures from -50°C to +200°C. Also, it’s sealed with wear-resistant screw threads and a rubber O-ring, making it watertight down to 100 meters. The metal casing is constructed with zamac, a metal alloy composed of zinc, aluminum, magnesium and copper which LaCie claims is so strong it can withstand the pressure of a 10-ton truck.

The XtremKey will be available in capacities from 8 to 64GB and will be available from the LaCie Online Store (starting at $49.99) from August.

Acer S273HL is a new 27" monitor sporting a LED backlight to help it reduce power consumption – compared to CFFL-lit displays it’s supposed use up to 68% less electricity. The native resolution is 1920×1080 and other than the good looks it sports DCR (dynamic contrast ratio) of 12,000,000:1, 2ms response time and two HDMI connectors. No word on pricing yet though.
